Doug Jones BEd, MIC, LPIOL
Director
Doug has worked professionally in outdoor education for over 30 years. He has worked for the Outward Bound Trust and in Local Authority Outdoor Education. For eight years he was Deputy Head of Warwickshire's Marle Hall Centre, moving to White Hall in Derbyshire as Deputy Principal in 1990 and becoming Principal two years later. After running Derbyshire's Outdoor Education Service, Doug became Head of Bedfordshire's Outdoor Education Service and eventually set up D-JAC Limited. Co-founder of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors, Doug also has many years experience at National Governing body level having chaired Mountain Leader Training England and MLTUK. He has also advised government departments on adventure activities and adventure education.
Doug has contributed to a number of publications in the field including Mountain Craft and Leadership, Group Safety at the Water Margins, High Quality Outdoor Education and guidance on the LOtC website.
